About Skill Ninja

Four years of one-hour classes, added up.

Skill Ninja started in 2022 with one belief: a woman who never got to speak English needs a live class, a woman trainer who has made the same journey, and a batch where a wrong sentence is a step, not a shame.

Somewhere along those four years we stopped being just an English academy. Today we are a women’s upskilling company: we teach the English, groom the personality, and open the door to work — starting with our own. Trainers, team leaders, counsellors: our classrooms are our first hiring pool.

How it works

Small live batches, every single day

Live, not recorded

70 batches run every day, morning to evening. Every student speaks in every class — that is the method, not a feature.

Trained by women

All 50 trainers are women, and many were once students in these same batches. They correct the way a didi corrects — firmly, kindly.

Run on technology

Scheduling, attendance and progress run on Skinja, our own system — so trainers spend their hour teaching, not administrating.

Hired from within

The ladder doesn’t stop at fluency. Students become trainers, team leaders and counsellors here — learn, level up, earn is our own org chart.

everyone still calls her Ritu ma’am
I taught children for fifteen years. Their mothers needed the lesson more.

Ritu spent fifteen years as a school teacher. Long enough to watch a generation of children pass through her classroom — and long enough to notice who was waiting at the gate.

The mothers. Capable women who ran homes, budgets and businesses, and who could not ask their child's teacher a single question in English without the child translating it for them. She had spent fifteen years teaching children whose mothers needed the lesson more.

So she started teaching the mothers. One batch, an hour a day, a room and a whiteboard.

The years since have not been generous ones in which to build a business. Batches filled slowly, and there were stretches where stopping would have been the easier decision. Skill Ninja grew through all of it — not on advertising, but because a woman who finished a course sent her sister, then her neighbour, then her daughter.

That one batch is now seventy a day, taught by fifty women trainers, to twenty-one thousand students and counting. Ritu still writes the curriculum and still takes classes. A good number of those fifty trainers were once sitting in her batches themselves, too nervous to say their own names aloud.

The pen that runs through this website — striking out can't, underlining what matters — is a teacher's pen. It is hers.
